So much to do, so little time

In sales, it is interesting how we make lists, work the lists, then realize that we have lost the day and we were not able to accomplish the goals and lists. Amazing days these days, with people struggling to make ends meet. Its great to have a discipline and see others who have similar goals to make it happen.

Life is too short to have negative thoughts or feelings. I really hope that I am not in my 60s or 70s and negative, as I choose to see the best in life, not the worst. As human beings we can choose to live positively or live in fear with negativity. I think being positive is more difficult, takes more discipline, and ultimately more rewarding than being negative.

Get out and be positive!

Local Jacksonville woman finds sensitive ATT contracts in her recycle bin

Jessica Menendez got quite a surprise when she looked in her recycle bin. Someone had dumped hundreds of files of people's personal information, and she had no idea where they came from.

"It was really shocking. I was quite upset," Menendez said. "I know if that was my information in that bin, I would be quite upset if that ended up in some stranger's hands."

The manila folders Menendez found contained personal information of AT&T cell phone customers, including credit card numbers, driver's licenses and Social Security numbers.

It appears the information was collected by another company called Ferrell Communication, which was located in a strip mall on Atlantic Boulevard. It's no longer there, and the phone number listed isn't valid.

The information is contracts for AT&T wireless service customers dating back to 1999 or 2000. The information is old, but could still be valid.

Collect the rents

Amazing how people can think they can skip out on rent. We have 9 rental properties and most people start out thinking they will pay the rent, then as time goes by, rent falls behind JEA and Cable, until pedicures are more important than rent.

Bull poop, rent is the most important thing, as my friend Paul Howard and Bill Gray have taught me. Pay it or I send your stuff to the street and I send you packing AND I send the rent owed to the three collection agencies.

Someone said being a landlord would get us ahead. It sure does not feel like it.

Happy Sunday!

Can I get a Good Idea from the peanut gallery?

For some reason, I cannot get good ideas from our people, not even good stories about other customers with the same issues that other customers, surely, have as well.

Why? Is it so hard to recollect a good idea, even 1 per day, for us to blog about and tell others about? Could that be so hard? 5 minutes, write down 3 good/bad things that happened yesteday.

Seems easy enough. Do it 5 days in a row, its a habit.

Finally feeling the week

Its been a rough week, distracted by junk and the web, its easy to do. Mr. Callahan's passing has been on my subconscious as well as the B-Row stuff. Good thing there are re-inforcements, as I cannot find a way to type, that bring you back on track to get over the mountain. Everyone has good days and bad days, but we need to KEEP MOVING FORWARD, progress, good or bad, is a positive thing.

Don't you agree?

Tiffany's coming to Jacksonville

Who would have thought Tiffany's would come to Jacksonville, but their website says it will be here in the Winter Time, I suppose in time for Christmas, as if SJTC did not need more traffic for the dear old holiday of the man in the red suit. But at least I can save myself a trip to New York City for a blue box this year.

How do you feel about Tiffany's at St. Johns Town Center? I'd love to see them allow Shredding Source to destroy their blue boxes, if allowed.

DNS records

Ugh, how in the world can your ISP change your DNS record and forget to tell you. If you get complaints from Comcast users who cannot receive your emails, you can be sure that it is your DNS record that is screwed up. Ours was and we had to get blacklisted because our reverse DNS lookup was wiped out by our ISP.
